Simon Cowell is an English reality television judge with an estimated net worth of $550 million. He was born on October 7, 1959 in Lambeth, London, England. His mother was a socialite and important ballet dancer in their local area. His father was a real estate agent, develop and a music executive. What this meant for Simon Cowell is that he lived a very privileged upbringing in England. He is one of six children. He has one full brother, three half-brothers and a half-sister. We are not positive who the half siblings belong to or whether or not they were born before or after Simon Cowell; though we assume they belong to his father since they all go by Cowell as a surname.

He did graduate from college before he made the decision to enter the workforce, but he did not do much in the professional world. Simon Cowell wanted more out of life than to work for someone else, so he made it his business to start his own career and go forth on his own accord. He began looking for jobs in the music industry. The show was called “Pop Idol,” and it was not filmed in the US. The first season of “American Idol,” was shot in 2002 where he was a judge.

It was that job that turned him into one of the most famous faces in the world. He became an overnight sensation with his mean comments, his brutal honesty and black tee-shirts that looked more like they belonged on a toddler boy than a grown man. Despite the fact he was the “mean” judge on national television, the world fell in love with Simon Cowell. His career took off, and he managed to leave Idol and return to television as a judge on the “X Factor,” where he became even more famous before taking on judging roles on even more television shows. He also does a lot of work in the charity world.

He was in the press for some time back in 2013 when he began dating the wife of a friend of his, Lauren Silverman. She filed for divorce from her husband, became pregnant and later gave birth to her first son with Simon Cowell in 2014. It’s been estimated that Simon Cowell makes a total of $95 million per year for his work in the music industry as well as reality television. He continues to earn more and more each year, and he has no intention of slowing down his career at this time. We might expect his net worth to rise substantially throughout the next few years.
