Plunder in the Sunken Ship - Super Mario 64 Guide

Jump into the water. Stay on the surface of the water and swim further into the cavern. After passing the large stalagmites on your left, make sure your breath is full and dive down. Swim toward the sunken ship on the lake floor. Go toward the back of the ship to find a large eel. Swim close to it to lure it away from its position. Wait for the eel to disappear; then, swim through the hole behind it.

Once you're inside the ship, swim down to the chest directly in front of you – it’s on its own next to the wall. Open the chest and swim into the bubble of air, which will replenish your breath. From this chest, turn around, and you should see three chests nearby. You must open them in the correct order to drain the water from the ship. Open the left one first,then the one on the right. Lastly, turn around and open the middle chest. After this, the water will begin to drain from the ship. This allows you to get to the far end of the ship and hit the yellow !-Block to get your Power Star!

NOTE: It will be possible for you to swim to the far end of the ship before the water is completely drained. If the water is drained, you’ll need to jump up the platforms to reach the yellow !-Block containing the Star.
